Homemade Churros Recipe

Ingredients:

  • Cacao Powder (for dusting or chocolate dipping sauce)
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 ½ tablespoons unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Coconut Sugar (for coating)
  • Ground cinnamon (optional, for coating)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Dough
    In a saucepan, heat water, butter (or coconut oil), sugar, and salt until the mixture boils. Remove from heat and stir in flour until it forms a smooth ball of dough.
  2. Add Eggs and Vanilla
    Let the dough cool for a few minutes, then mix in eggs and vanilla one at a time until smooth.
  3. Shape Churros
    Transfer dough to a piping bag with a star-shaped tip.
  4. Fry
    Heat oil in a deep pot to 375°F (190°C). Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors. Fry until golden and crispy.
  5. Coat
    Mix Busy Beans Coconut Sugar and cinnamon (if using). Roll warm churros in the mixture.
  6. Serve
